چکیده

Introduction: Phase-sensitive (PS) SSFP [1,2] is an efficient fat/water separation method, successfully used in several applications including angiography [1], musculoskeletal [3] and abdominal [4] imaging. It generates and detects a 180 phase-difference between fat and water. In previous work, water images reconstructed from individual coils with PSSSFP were combined [4,5]. However, abrupt spatial phase-variations from surface-coil arrays can lead to fat-water misclassification. In this work, we propose a simple and robust multicoil PS-SSFP reconstruction. First, individual coil images are combined to yield an image with reliable phase. Fat and water are then successfully separated using this combination.

Multicoil Dixon chemical species separation with an iterative least-squares estimation method.

This work describes a new approach to multipoint Dixon fat-water separation that is amenable to pulse sequences that require short echo time (TE) increments, such as steady-state free precession (SSFP) and fast spin-echo (FSE) imaging. Using an iterative linear least-squares method that decomposes water and fat images from source images acquired at short TE increments, images with a high signal...

Water Fat Separation with Undersampled TSE BLADE Based on Three Point Dixon

Introduction In the three-point Dixon water fat separation method, one in-phase echo and two out-of-phase echoes are sampled in Cartesian k-space trajectory conventionally [1][2]. The Cartesian sampling is sensitive to motions, such as from pulsation and flow, which cause artifacts degrading the image quality. To address this problem, a non Cartesian sampling method, TSE BLADE three-point Dixon...

Phase Sensitive Reconstruction for Water/Fat Separation in MR Imaging Using Inverse Gradient

This paper presents a novel method for phase unwrapping for phase sensitive reconstruction in MR imaging. The unwrapped phase is obtained by integrating the phase gradient by solving a Poisson equation. An efficient solver, which has been made publicly available, is used to solve the equation. The proposed method is demonstrated on a fat quantification MRI task that is a part of a prospective s...

General Phase Regularized Reconstruction using Phase Cycling

PURPOSE To develop a general phase regularized image reconstruction method, with applications to partial Fourier imaging, water-fat imaging and flow imaging. THEORY AND METHODS The problem of enforcing phase constraints in reconstruction was studied under a regularized inverse problem framework. A general phase regularized reconstruction algorithm was proposed to enable various joint reconstr...

Water-Fat Separation Using a Locally Low-Rank Enforcing Reconstruction

INTRODUCTION: Multi-contrast water-fat separation based on the Dixon method is steadily gaining importance in clinical routine. An accelerated examination using dedicated acquisition schemes in combination with an iterative reconstruction is therefore highly desirable. A direct reconstruction of water and fat images incorporating field inhomogeneities, relaxation effects as well as gradient del...
